Founded in 1967 as the Agricultural Pesticide Institute of the Philippines (APIP)

The APIP was instrumental in the drafting of Presidential Decree 1144, signed into law on May 1977, creating the Fertilizer and Pesticide Authority (FPA).

To provide collective leadership in the plant science industry through the advocacy of clear-cut policies and effective programs that contribute to a sustainable and globally competitive Philippine agriculture. In the 70’s, APIP was a key partner in the Masagana 99 program

In the 80s, APIP was among the first to subscribe and commit to the principles of Integrated Pest Management (IPM)

Crop Protection Association of the Philippines (CPAP)

In 1994, the association was renamed to Crop Protection Association of the Philippines (CPAP)

In August 2002, CropLife Philippines was organized and became part of the global federation, CropLife International

CropLife Philippines consists of member companies that fully support the FAO Code of Conduct on the Distribution and Use of Pesticide

Advocacy & Communication

This committee develops advocacy and communication strategies to build and promote CLP’s reputation through initiatives that captures regulatory, scientific community, academe, media, general public and relevant industries.

Technical & Regulatory

The Technical and Regulatory Committee addresses issues and concerns relating to registration, research and development, manufacture, storage and distribution, use and handling of pesticides.

Seed & Biotech

This committee is involved in the advocacy of policies related to modern biotech and other modern technology that may be developed to ensure that these products and technologies are safe to human health, and the environment.

Stewardship - Responsible Care Committee

The Committee plans and coordinate industry wide programs on responsible use pesticides, resistance management, empty container management, integrated pests’ management, sustainable agriculture and soil conservation.

Environmental Science Committee

This committee covers issues related to the registration, regulation, responsible use, and safe handling of chemicals intended for non-crop and non-agricultural uses.

Anti Counterfeit Committee

This committee address issues and concerns regarding the manufacture, sales, and distribution of counterfeit/fake, illegal, and smuggled crop protection products and seeds.
